Police on hunt for cyclist offering booze to girls.  (June 14, 2004)

ROCKFORD - Police are looking for a man who has reportedly been riding a bicycle  and offering alcohol to girls.

The suspect is described as a white male in his 30s, with blond hair and a medium build.  He allegedly hangs around Brown Park on North Main and a nearby Stop-N-Go gas station.

On Saturday he approached a 14-year-old girl while he was riding a red-and-yellow bike.  Police said the man offered her beer and asked her to "spend some time" with him.

The girl refused the man's advances and told her parents.

Police reports indicate that there have been other calls made describing a similar suspect and circumstances, although the suspect always leaves by the time police arrive.
